Did You Start Making Money From Home in 2009?

It seems at the end of each year, I get a ton of emails saying something to the effect of “hey, I want to learn how to make money from home in the New Year, can you help me?”

Then, a few months later I follow up with a few of the people who sent me the emails to see if they got started making money online. Nearly everyone I contact has some sad excuse for not starting their online venture. “I don’t have time”, “I don’t know anything about building websites”, “I don’t know code”, “I’m not really technical” and so on. People come up with the silliest excuses for their own failures.

Look, if you really want to earn money online, and I mean if you really have a desire to do it, not “dreaming” about making it happen, then follow along.

You may be one of the scores of people who dipped their toes into the Internet Marketing industry. Chances are you lost money or made very little. With all the scams out there today, it’s not surprising. Perhaps you bought some program or course and never got around to following it. If that’s the case, you only have yourself to blame, no matter what your excuse.

You see, I firmly believe that each person controls his or her own destiny to a large extent. Sure, some people legitimate reasons why they’re in the position they’re in. But most, no, nearly all are where they’re at because they want to be there or fail to do anything to better their lot in life.

Take New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. A week or more before the storm made landfall, people were warned to get out of there. Yet most sit on their butts and did nothing! Then, when and after the storm hit, they complained that the Government did nothing to help them!

Even if you had no car, there were several means of public transportation to get out of town with. At the least, you had two legs! Funny, most people who didn’t have a car used that as an excuse. But when they needed to go out on the town or run to the store, they could always find a ride.

It all boils down to how bad you want to improve your lot in life. Do you really have the desire to do something about the way you’re living or do you just want to complain about it and blame others?

On the other hand, if you did start making money from home in 2009, Good For You! Even if you didn’t make any money, at least you got started.

If you failed, try again. If you then fail again, keep trying. I’ve had many failures in my life but I keep pulling myself up. I know of many others who are far more successful then myself who’ve lost loads of money. Some have lost their homes and all their belongings, but they kept on trying and they’re now at the top of the pile.

If you’re making money from home now, congratulations!

Whatever you do, don’t stop and rest! Keep on diversifying your portfolio of income generating websites. I can’t stress enough how important it is to have a wide variety of websites.

For example, I have several websites that sell information on a huge variety of subjects. I also have websites that sell products in which I earn a commission when I sell a product. I have websites that use ebay and Amazon.com for monetization. Plus I have others that give out loads of free info that are monetized by Google Adsense.

Diversification means that if one stream of your income goes down, then you’ll still have other streams that are making you money.

Not too long ago, I was talking to a lady who made a good amount of money with Google Adsense. In fact, she had over 50 websites that were monetized this way. These were all the websites she owned.

One day she gets an email from Adsense stating that her account has been terminated.

Poof!!

20k per month in income…gone instantly.

Could you handle a hit like that?

She emailed me wanting to know what her options were. I have to tell you, she didn’t have a whole lot of options. Most of her better sites were over subjects that didn’t have a lot of money in the keywords as far as Affiliate Marketing was concerned. Luckily nearly all of her websites had quality content and ranked well in the search engines.

Eventually she diversified her sites with monetization streams. Still, it was months before she started making money again and at last check, here sites still don’t make as much money as they used to.

As the old saying goes, Don’t put all your eggs in one basket! This is really true for Internet Marketing.

If you want to create long term income and learn how to make money from home, then once you start seeing success with one program or system, change it up and create different websites that will make money by other forms of monetization.
